Farmington Hills event honors community’s veterans

The City of Farmington Hills Special Services Adults 50 & Better Division will honor community veterans during the 22nd annual Stars and Stripes Forever Veterans Day Celebration, held on Friday, November 9, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Costick Center, 28600 W. 11 Mile Rd.

Complimentary admission is offered to veterans living in Farmington or Farmington Hills who are preregistered by November 5 . Tickets are $10 for adults of all ages; $8 until November 5.

The event includes an honor guard ceremony conducted by the VFW and the American Legion, and a recitation of veterans’ names. Lindell Holm, Director of the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund, delivers the keynote address, and the event includes entertainment by Matthew Ball, “The Boogie Woogie Kid.”
