Farmington Hills-based orchestra launches 12th season

Orchard Lake Philharmonic, based in Farmington Hills, celebrates the beginning of its 12th season with two performances of “Musical Harvest,” under the direction of Norman A. Logan.

The concerts, held on Friday October 19, at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at St James Catholic Church, 46325 10 Mile Rd. in Novi, will feature:

Jon Aldred for Farmington Hills City Council
  • Bernstein’s “Overture to Candide”
  • Beethoven’s “Piano Concerto #4, first movement” with soloist Susanne Vergeldt
  • Holst’s “St. Paul’s Suite”
  • “Finlandia” by Sibelius
  • “Courage”, a premier performance composed by Logan
