Farmington farmers market celebrates Italian culture

Downtown Farmington will transform into a hub of Italian culture August 12, as the Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market celebrates Italian-American Day.

Open from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., the weekly Saturday market will begin with a special blessing and ringing of the market bell, followed by a day of Italian foods, live entertainment with The Amici Band, strolling entertainment With David & Frances, Gambino’s Wood Fired Pizza, fresh pasta, costumed dancers, and even a bit of wine tasting at the market’s Bella Cantina, open 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

This is all in addition to the market’s weekly Little Sprouts Tent for children and a full selection of vendors selling Michigan produce, artisan wares, and specialty foods.
