House Democratic Leader Christine Greig (D-Farmington Hills) was officially sworn January 9 as representative for the 37th House District for the 2019-2020 legislative session. The ceremony marked the formal opening of Michigan’s 100th Legislature.

“This year marks a new beginning for our state, and the opportunity under new leadership to get to work making life better for working families everywhere,” Grieg said in a statement released Wednesday. “Michiganders made it clear they are counting on us to fix their roads, clean their water, strengthen their public schools and make their health care affordable. House Democrats are ready to roll up our sleeves and work with anyone willing to put people over politics to get things done.”
