The Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market on Saturday welcomes 40 vendors to the Walter Sundquist Farmington Pavilion and Riley Park in downtown Farmington.
The market, open 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., operates this week next to Art on the Grand, a juried arts festival, which will close Grand River between Grove Street and Farmington Road.
Cookin’ at the Market, a 10 a.m. chef’s demo, will feature Chef Matt Schellig from the Dorsey Culinary School. He’ll prepare a blueberry, basil strudel, sharing a recipe and samples. Gia Warner and Bobby Lewis will provide music, also starting at 10 a.m.
Vendors will include Brightmoor Farms, Evies Tamales, Great Lakes Pot Pie Co., Farmington Brewery,The Spice Grrrl, Civil Ferments, and Birdie’s Chocolate.
Best bets for parking:
- The Village Commons shopping center lot is available on Saturday for market-goers. It’s located on the north side of Grand River, a block and a half east of Riley Park
- Public lot at the Masonic Hall, on Farmington Road just north of Grand River
- Street spaces along Farmington Road north of Grand River
- Parking lots on Orchard, east of Farmington Road (behind Fresh Thyme Farmers Market)
