To mark Women’s History Month, the Dawoodi Bohras of Detroit in Farmington Hills are hosting a virtual conference celebrating women change makers in Metro Detroit.

VIP Speakers include:

  • Michigan State Representative Samantha Steckloff [MI-37]
  • Mayor Vicki Barnett of the City of Farmington Hills
  • 2019 Top 10 CNN Hero, Najah Bazzy of Zaman International
  • Founder of Youth United, Karen Linnell
  • Youth United Leadership Team members, Jodi Gross and Mariyah Saifuddin

VIP guest speakers will share how they overcame challenges they faced while making a difference in their communities and leave attendees inspired to take action in their own lives. Highlights will include:

  • Congresswoman Lawrence sharing highlights of her astounding career and how women can make an impact in their community.
  • Rep. Steckloff and Mayor Barnett, a dynamic mother-daughter duo who have committed themselves to public service in the same community, discussing how their relationship and service are intertwined and how young women can make a difference in their own lives.
  • Najah Bazzy of Zaman International sharing her inspiring story of why she started Zaman and how she overcame challenges to take Zaman to the level it is today.
  • a Fireside Chat with the founder and members of the leadership team of Youth United, an interfaith group of young adults that come together in service for their community.
