East staffers take a pie in the face for one of their own

During December, East Middle School staff and students held a pie in the face fundraiser to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and teacher Christina Fifield, who lives with the disease.

Students donated funds to choose the staff members they wanted to see receive a pie in the face during the Winter Wonderland assembly on December 21. Two teachers, Debra Calanchi and Jennifer Franklin, and Assistant Principal, Drew LaCroix, were the big winners of the challenge, through which the school raised $1,100 to fight Cystic Fibrosis.

“I am incredibly grateful that our students care so much about me and this worthy cause,” Fifield said. “I am honored that East Middle School was able to donate to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.”
