Detroit Youth Choir, with two local members, advances to AGT semis

The Detroit Youth Choir (DYC), which includes two Farmington Public Schools students, has moved on to the semi-finals of “America’s Got Talent,” a nationally televised talent competition.

Farmington High senior Victoria Cooksey and 2019 graduate Breanna Carter performed on August 27 with the choir, which provides metro Detroit youth ages 8-18 with music education and performing arts experience. DYC learned on August 28 that they’d advanced, after a day of public voting.

Here’s a look at their amazing performance:

DYC’s next appearance happens on Tuesday, September 10 at 8 p.m., with another round of voting and results announced on September 11 that will determine whether they move on to the two-night season finale September 17 and 18.
