The City of Farmington just made it a little easier for residents to find local shops and service providers.
Any business with a license to operate within city limits is now listed in a searchable directory at farmgov.com. Deputy City Clerk Mary Mullison said the resource became possible when the city unveiled its new website earlier this year.
“We have wanted to do this for a while,” she said. “We want to give (business owners) another return for their registration.”
The directory groups listings into six general categories: Health & Beauty, General Services, Food, Retail, Finance & Real Estate, and Professional Services. Each opens to a search page where users can drill down to find exactly what they need.
Business owners can add to the basic listing with a description and photos, Mullison said. Only those with a license in good standing have been included.
The directory is located under the “Community” banner at farmgov.com.
