A celebration of the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, happens on Friday, June 21 at Heritage Park in Farmington Hills.
From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., take a hayride through the park, enjoy roasting marshmallows around a campfire, explore the Nature Center, create a fairy door and art projects, and find out what makes the day special with games and outdoor activities.
All ages are welcome; participants should dress for the weather and meet inside the Nature Center. Adults must accompany children on the hayride wagon. A fee of $5 per person includes a spot on the hayride.
Register at recreg.fhgov.com/ or at the Costick Center, 28600 W. 11 Mile Rd. You may also drop in. The event is free for children under two.
