Anyone can safely disposed of old, expired, and unused prescription drugs during a Prescription Drug Take-Back Day held Saturday, October 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Farmington Hills Police Headquarters, 31655 W. 11 Mile Road.
Held in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the event will safely and anonymously remove potentially dangerous controlled substances (any medication requiring a prescription) from homes throughout the community.
During the 17th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day in April 2019, Farmington Hills Police Department (FHPD) collected 283 pounds of prescription drugs, which the DEA destroyed in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations.
Residents of any city may participate in Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Prescription drugs are accepted anonymously in any type of container; no identifying information is required. For more information, call the FHPD Investigative Division, 248-871-2770.
