Beaumont Cancer & Breast Care Center in Farmington Hills will host its first-ever screening mammogram event on October 16 from 4-8 p.m.
In all, nine Beaumont facilities will participate. “Walk In Wednesday” is first-come, first-served, and space is limited. Anyone who attends must have a paper or electronic prescription for a mammogram.
“We recommend annual screenings starting at age 40,” Beaumont radiologist Dr. Murray Rebner said in a press release. “We know getting regular annual mammograms can save lives.”
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Studies also show women under 50 tend to develop more aggressive forms of breast cancer.
If you can’t make it on October 16, you can still schedule your mammogram online or call 248-965-0359. Screening mammograms are covered by most insurance companies. If you do not have insurance, a cash pay option is available.
