The Farmington Hills Youth Theatre program will host open auditions on January 11, 12 to 5 p.m., and January 12, 12 to 4 p.m., for spring 2020 productions of James and the Giant Peach Jr. (grades K-8) and Mamma Mia! (grades 6-12).
James and the Giant Peach Jr. – March 26-29, 2020
Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, James and the Giant Peach Jr. is a brand new take on this “masterpeach” of a tale. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, which he rolls into the ocean and then launches a journey of enormous proportions.
Mamma Mia! – April 23-26, 2020
ABBA’s hits tell the hilarious story of a young woman’s search for her birth father. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. The story-telling magic of timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter, and friendship, creating an unforgettable show.
Newcomers and experienced youth actors, residents and non-residents, are invited to audition for its spring shows. The drop-in process is easy and friendly, and no experience or preparation is necessary. Participants are asked to bring a recent photo to auditions; all other materials are supplied.
