TO THE EDITOR:
Oakland County is an excellent area in which to live and work. This did not happen by accident, but is due to excellent long-term County leadership.
Bill Dwyer has long-served us with distinction in the 14th. He has decided to retire. Therefore, on November 6, voters in Farmington and Farmington Hills will have an opportunity to elect a new Oakland County Commissioner for the 14th District. The citizens in our community deserve a representative who is as committed, knowledgeable, talented, and will work as hard to represent us at the County level as Commissioner Dwyer. We have that candidate in Bill Galvin.
Our County Commissioner works for us on county policy, ordinances, development planning, capital improvements, and general operations of county departments and offices. Commissioners serve within a committee structure that includes Economic Development, Finance, Government, Planning, HR and Public Services. Bill Galvin is the candidate who is ready to step in and meet the challenges of the office in all of those areas. His career in finance ensures he will protect our tax dollars and ensure they are wisely invested. Bill has served in leadership roles as a successful council member and mayor in Farmington and has a working history of leading in all of those areas.
As a life-long resident, he understands our region; he has the educational and professional preparation and experience; he has tested government experience; and he is ready to step-up and work for our community at the county level. Bill Galvin is committed to public safety, economic development, and infrastructure improvement. No candidate is more qualified. I know, I have known and worked with Bill Galvin on these important issues.
Please join me, Commissioner Dwyer, and many others in voting for Bill Galvin for Oakland County Commissioner. Let’s keep this talented man working for US!
