Yard waste collection ends, Farmington adjusts leaf pick-up

The City of Farmington has released a new leaf pick-up map that shows dates for one more round of collections delayed by last week’s snowstorm.

The schedule runs from November 25 through December 11, starting with streets on the east side of the city. Leaves should be raked just to the curb and not into the street, no sooner than 48 hours before your scheduled collection date. Cars must be off the street from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on scheduled collection dates.

Leaf pick-up is a supplemental service; if a pick-up is not scheduled, yard waste should be bagged and placed at the curb on your regular trash collection day.

The last week for Waste Management to pick up yard waste in Farmington is November 25-30.

In Farmington Hills, yard waste pickup will end on your regularly scheduled garbage day during the week of December 9 through 13.

Any yard waste accumulated after that week should be left on the ground, mulched or stored until spring pickup resumes in spring of 2020.
