A sunny and unseasonably warm day greeted the Greater Farmington Area Chamber’s Holly Days celebration held December 2 in downtown Farmington.
The Gifts, Greens & Giving market took over the Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion, with “Merry & Bright” train rides on the hardscape portions of Riley Park. Families waited in long lines to enter a holiday wonderland and visit with Santa at Great Lakes Ace Hardware, while Mrs. Claus read stories in front of a toasty fireplace at The Farmington Garage.
Spectators lined Grand River for the 6 p.m. Light Up the Grand parade, which ended at the Governor Warner Mansion. There, Santa made another appearance to light up an evergreen tree in the gazebo. That portion of the day was organized by the Farmington Area Jaycees and the Salvation Army.
