A vacant house behind Salem United Church of Christ on Oakland Street in Farmington served in June and July as a training ground for Farmington Public Safety officers.
The church offered use of the house, which will eventually be demolished. The department conducted search and rescue, ventilation, and forcible entry training for all officers.
“We appreciate our community partnership that we share with the Salem United Church of Christ and are thankful they thought of us prior to tearing down the house so we could use it for training,” Deputy Director Ted Warthman said.
