It’s Thanksgiving week in Farmington and Farmington Hills, here’s what you should know:
Community Thanksgiving Service
First Presbyterian Church of Farmington, 26165 Farmington Rd. in Farmington Hills, will host this year’s Farmington Area Interfaith Association Thanksgiving Community Service on Monday, Nov. 20, 7:30 p.m. A collection of non-perishable food items and cash donations will be accepted for C.A.R.E.S. of Farmington & Farmington Hills and Neighborhood House.
Trash collection
Trash and recycling will not be collected on Thanksgiving Day. Thursday routes will be collected on Friday, and Friday’s on Saturday.
Government offices
Farmington and Farmington Hills city offices and the 47th District Court will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23, as will U.S. Post Office branches in downtown Farmington and Farmington Hills.
Farmington Community Library
Both branches of the Farmington Community Library will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22 and Thursday, Nov. 23, and will reopen on Friday, Nov. 24 at 10 a.m.
Farmington Public Schools
Thanksgiving break begins for students on Wednesday, Nov. 22 and continues through Friday, Nov. 24.
