The Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan will unite next month for a council-wide community service project, Scouting for Food.
Boy Scouts of America, Venturers, Cub Scouts, and Girl Scouts will be distributing plastic grocery bags to homes in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties, including Farmington and Farmington Hills November 4-10. On Saturday, November 11, Scouts will go back to those houses to collect the plastic grocery bags filled with donated food.
Accepted items include boxed or canned goods only (such as peanut butter, tuna, soup, ravioli, beef stew, and other high-protein items). The Scouts can’t take perishable or frozen items or glass containers.
Food collection begins at 9 a.m. and will continue throughout the day.
If you do not receive a bag, you may drop off your donation on November 11 at any Art Van location.
