Local residents can expect to see at least three new restaurants open in 2018, two in Farmington and one in Farmington Hills:
The Michigan-based restaurant chain that’s “saving the world from ordinary breakfast,” expects to open its newest location early next year in Farmington Hills. The restaurant hopes to open next month in the former TGIFriday’s on Northwestern Highway.
Farmington Economic and Community Development Director Kevin Christiansen said this new Indian restaurant is expected to open in a 3-story office and retail center built this year in the former Grand River-Halsted Plaza, now Freedom Plaza. City staff and consultants are reviewing plans for what will be the building’s first retail tenant.
Former Grand Bakery & Cafe
While the city has received no plans, a new restaurant is expected to locate on this property some time in 2018. The property and the adjacent S.O.U.L. Community House (former Ginger’s Cafe and Mrs. Lovell’s Tea Cozy) are the process of being purchased.
