Police arrest ski-masked home invasion suspect

A 37-year-old Ohio man caught breaking into Farmington Hills homes Saturday is a suspect in other metro Detroit home invasions.

Police caught Eric Dwight Roberson in the area of Freedom and Drake Roads; he was wearing a ski mask and gloves. According to a press release, he admitted trying to steal cash from the homes.

Roberson is suspected of several similar crimes in Oakland and Wayne Counties.

Arraigned in 47th District Court on Sunday, Roberson faces two counts of 1st Degree Home Invasion and remains at the Oakland County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 cash bond. His next court appearance is scheduled on July 20.

Agencies involved in Roberson’s arrest include the South Oakland Narcotics Intelligence Consortium (SONIC), comprised of detectives from the West Bloomfield Township, Farmington Hills, and Novi Police Departments; the Western Wayne Criminal Response Team, comprised of detectives from the Michigan State Police, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and local departments from western Wayne County; Farmington Hills Police Directed Patrol Unit (DPU); Michigan State Police; and West Bloomfield K9 team.
