The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will host an open house-style public meeting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on September 26 to discuss a 2019 project on M-5 between 8 Mile Road and 13 Mile Road.
The work will include milling and replacing asphalt, bridge rehabilitation on Drake Road and Grand River Avenue over M-5, and sign replacements. MDOT staff, city officials, and project consultants will be on hand at Farmington City Hall, 23600 Liberty Street, to provide information and answer questions.
MDOT is investing $8.9 million on the project, which spans the cities of Farmington, Farmington Hills, and Novi in Oakland County. The 2019 project is expected to begin in the spring and be completed by the fall.
This work is expected to feature single- and double-lane closures with limited full closures on the weekends. Work on Grand River Avenue and Drake Road will require full closures with traffic detoured. MDOT is working with the city on accommodations for overnight and weekend work.
Accommodations can be made for persons with disabilities and limited English-speaking ability. Large print materials, auxiliary aids or the services of interpreters, signers, or readers available upon request. Please call 517-373-9534.
