The Farmington Hills/Farmington Emergency Preparedness Commission (EPC) will present a Women’s Self-Defense Seminar on Saturday, March 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Costick Center, 28600 W. 11 Mile Rd.
According to a press release, participants will learn how to protect themselves and their families in a non-intimidating, supportive environment; no previous experience is required. The seminar will be presented by a team of senior instructors led by Grand Master David Swartz, an Eighth Degree Black Belt with over 40 years of experience in teaching self-defense skills.
The free self-defense seminar is open to all women ages 13 and older. Tax deductible donations will be accepted for Kids Kicking Cancer, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides weekly classes in mind-body martial arts techniques with a mission to ease the pain of sick children while promoting physical, spiritual, and emotional healing.
Pre-registration is required and participation is limited; call the Costick Center at 248-473-1800.
