Learn more about candidates, issues on your August 7 ballot

To help you prepare to cast your ballot in the Tuesday, August 7 primary election, Farmington Voice has collected links to candidate websites, video interviews, and more to help you make your decisions.

This election is a partisan primary, meaning that voters may only vote for candidates in one party. Voters are choosing which candidates will represent their party in the November General Election. If you vote for candidates of more than one party, that portion of your ballot will not be counted.

SMART millage

Farmington and Farmington Hills voters will both help decide the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) millage. The ballot question asks for renewal of the .9863 mills (which reflects a Headlee rollback) and an increase of .0137, to the original 1 mill levy approved in 2014. SMART provides bus and connector service across metro Detroit and transportation for seniors and people with disabilities.
