Learn about becoming an on-call Farmington firefighter

Men and women interested in becoming paid, on-call Farmington firefighters are invited to attend an informational meeting held October 25, 7 p.m., at Farmington City Hall, 23600 Liberty St.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, live within six miles of the city, have a high school diploma, and a Michigan driver’s license. They must also pass an oral interview, psychological exam, medical exam, and drug screening.

New recruits must attend approximately 350 hours of instruction in the spring of 2019. The department pays for these classes, and recruits are paid while they attend the training.

Firefighters respond to calls day and night, attend monthly trainings and other department functions.
