Is your older Farmington area home ‘historic’?

The City of Farmington Hills, with the Michigan Historic Preservation Network and Preservation Farmington, will host a September 17 workshop about the benefits of historic designation for your older home.

Learn what a local historic district is, how it affects the property owner, who serves on the local historic district commission, and how designations are made. Participants will also learn why Michigan communities protect their historic resources and how they might benefit from pursuing historic designations.

The 6:30 p.m. workshop will take place at the Spicer House, inside Heritage Park, 24915 Farmington Road. The fee is $10, and the event is open to the public.

Registration at eventbrite.com/e/why-preservation-farmington-hills-presentation-tickets-66352154079 closes on Monday, September 16 at 5 p.m.
