Here’s your Farmington Holly Days line-up

Family fun, a special “Greens & Giving” market, free movies, visits from Santa, a lighted parade, and a community tree-lighting are all part of the Greater Farmington Area Chamber Holly Days celebration, held Saturday, December 7.

Here’s the schedule:

Greens & Giving Market

Greens, Gifts & Giving Market 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion, downtown Farmington

Choose from beautiful evergreen creations and gifts created by area farmers and artisans, enjoy a warming beverage at the Holly Days Inn, sponsored by Detroit Eatz, and get your gifts wrapped with the Farmington/Farmington Hills Optimist Club. Adding to the fun will be train rides for children, sponsored by Annette Compo Home Team, Keller Williams, and a holiday photo booth sponsored by Basement Burger Bar.

Visit with SantaFree Movies 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Farmington Civic Theater, 33332 Grand River

Admission to showings of “Polar Express” and “Shrek the Halls” is free with a donation of a new, unwrapped toy, new children’s book, canned or boxed food items with an expiration date of 2021 or beyond, or a cash donation. to the Farmington Area Goodfellows holiday drive.

Visit with Santa 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Farmington Garage, 33014 Grand River

Children can tell Santa what they really want to see under their trees; he’ll be welcoming their requests at the Farmington Garage, the event’s sponsor.

Elves Workshop 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Great Lakes Ace Hardware, 33021 Grand River

Kids will make holiday crafts with help from Santa’s elves at Great Lakes Ace, the event’s sponsor.

Lighted Parade float Paulsons

Light Up The Grand Parade, 5:30 p.m., Grand River through downtown Farmington 

Presented by Paulson’s Audio and Video, the lighted parade starts this year at 5:30 p.m. Entries from area groups and businesses, as well as emergency vehicles from Farmington and Farmington Hills, all glittering with holiday lights, will travel west through the heart of the town.

Governor Warner Mansion Tree Lighting

Farmington Area Jaycees 34th Annual Holiday Tree LIghting, after the parade, 33805 Grand River

Follow the parade a few blocks to the historic Gov. Warner Mansion, which will be decked out for the holidays thanks to the Farmington Jaycees. A tree lighting sponsored by Perfect Game, will feature a sing-along and music from Farmington School of Rock, Thistle Rose, All That Brass, and the Farmington Community Chorus. The Jaycees Business of the Year and Citizen of the Year will be announced, and the new mayors of Farmington and Farmington Hills will speak. Hot beverages and baked goods will be provided by Farmhouse Coffee & Ice Cream.
