You can help the Farmington Area Goodfellows make sure no child or senior goes without a Christmas by donating to the group’s Holiday Assistance Program through December 14.
The Goodfellows help hundreds of families and senior households by delivering over 30,000 non-perishable food and gift items each year. Collection boxes accepting donations of canned or boxed foods, personal care items, new books, and unwrapped new toys are located at:
- Farmington Hills City Hall, 31555 W. 11 Mile Rd.
- Costick Center, 28600 W. 11 Mile Rd.
- Farmington City Hall, 23600 Liberty St.
- Farmington Public Library, 23500 Liberty St.
To make a financial contribution, send a check or money order to Farmington Area Goodfellows, 31455 W. 11 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills, MI 48336.
All collected items will be stored and packaged for delivery in the Goodfellows’ temporary headquarters, 37777 Interchange Drive in Farmington Hills, which opens on November 26. Baskets will be distributed on “Delivery Day,” which is Saturday, December 22.
In 2017, more than 150 volunteers delivered holiday baskets to more than 400 local children, 81 seniors, and 25 adults with developmental challenges.
