State Representative Christine Greig cruised to an easy third and final term in Tuesday’s mid-term elections, supported by more than two-thirds of Farmington area voters.

The Farmington Hills Democrat collected twice as many votes as her Republican challenger, Mitch Swoboda, also of Farmington Hills. The 37th District includes Farmington and Farmington Hills.

Greig’s biggest wins came in Farmington Hills Precinct 6 (79.5 percent) and Precinct 17 (84.2 percent).

In the race to fill the 14th District Oakland County Board of Commissioners seat vacated by former Farmington Hills Police Chief Bill Dwyer, Democrat William Miller III defeated Farmington city council member Bill Galvin, the Republican Dwyer endorsed, by more than 4,200 votes.

Miller won 23 of 28 precincts in the 14th, which includes all of Farmington, and portions of Farmington Hills, Southfield, and Southfield Township. Southfield Precinct 4, Southfield Township Precinct 6, 7, and 10, and Farmington Hills Precinct 14 went to Galvin.
