Monday, July 31, 7 p.m., Riley Park & Sundquist Pavilion, downtown Farmington. Join the Farmington Community Band Concert Band for a final “pop up” summer band concert. As the FCB wraps up their 51st season, enjoy a wonderful selection of great music including movies, marches and season highlights.
Tuesday, Aug. 1, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Farmington Hills Golf Course. Proceeds go toward youth programs and events that benefit the entire community. Not a golfer? Donations are accepted.
Thursday, Aug. 3, 7 p.m., Heritage Park, 24725 Farmington Rd., Farmington Hills. Whether you are a fan of the old, classic Rod or the new Rod of today, you won’t want to miss this show! Danny D’s voice and appearance are so similar to Rod Stewart, it’s uncanny. If it rains, the concert will be held at the Costick Center, 28600 W. 11 Mile Road. Hotline: (248) 473-1848.
Thursday, Aug. 3, 8 p.m.-11 p.m., Sundquist Pavilion, downtown Farmington. Take a trip back in time with swing dancing to the Summer of ’39, a night of vintage tunes from the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. Take an 8 p.m. Charleston lesson before the open dance. $2 Admission.
Friday, Aug. 4, 7:30 p.m. Sundquist Pavilion & Riley Park, downtown Farmington. A seven-time recipient of Music Awards in Detroit for Best Folk/Acoustic Band, this eleven-piece, all acoustic and vocal band plays original music in an array of styles that includes folk, rock, roots, Zydeco, calypso, klezmer (often described as having an Eastern European or Romany sound), ragtime, French cabaret and Bourbon Street swing. Saturday, August 5, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sundquist Pavilion & Riley Park, downtown Farmington. Shop 40 vendors offering produce, prepared foods, hand-crafted items and more. Special Guest: Mid American Fitness & The Little Princess Ballet. Music by Gary Niemenski starts at 10 a.m. Chef Jeff Rose is Cookin’ in the Market at 11 a.m.
