Riley Park Ice Rink opened on Christmas Eve, launching a season that will last as long as the cold weather does.
Located at Grove and Grand River in downtown Farmington, the rink is celebrating its fifth year. Skaters are welcome 8:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. No skates? You can borrow from the dozens collected through donations.
The season’s first event, with a Harry Potter theme, happens at 6 p.m. on December 29. There’ll be a horcrux scavenger hunt, prizes, butter beer, and more. Cost is $5 per person, $20 per family.
