Farmington Optimists host event with legendary Harrison coach

Harrison High football coach John Herrington will keynote a Farmington/Farmington Hills Optimist Club meeting held Wednesday, Jan. 31, 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m., at Longacre House, 24705 Farmington Rd. in Farmington Hills.

Herrington became the state’s all-time winningest coach in November of 2017. He started the Harrison program in 1970 and has been the school’s only head coach ever since. Harrison’s Hall of Fame head coach now stands atop the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s win charts with 435, including 13 state championships.

Guests will learn about the Optimist Club, enjoy refreshments and appetizers, and network with local members. The organization leads Farmington area service projects aimed at providing a helping hand to youth.
