If city officials approve, next year’s Founders Festival will move out of downtown Farmington.

Farmington city council members will on Monday look at plans to hold all events in the park next year. The annual summer festival is scheduled July 18-21, 2019.

Agenda packet materials for the 7 p.m. city council meeting show the Greater Farmington Area Chamber of Commerce board voted on November 15 to make the move. In a letter to city officials, Director Mary Martin said the decision came after discussions over issues that included parking, weather, space allocation, security, and cost-effectiveness.

Other agenda items include:

  • Consideration of crypt fees at Oakwood Cemetery
  • A proposed Pedestrian Crosswalk Ordinance
  • Renting Riley Park Ice Rink
