Farmington Hills staffer receives state association award

City of Farmington Hills Economic Development Director Samantha Seimer received the prestigious President’s Award at the Annual Meeting of the Michigan Economic Developers Association (MEDA) held this month in Marquette.

“We wanted to recognize a young leader who had a track record of success and a bright future in economic development, both in her day job and in her involvement with MEDA,” said 2019 MEDA Board President Justin Horvath.“Samantha was a perfect fit.”

Seimer started her career as an intern with the City of Auburn Hills and was then promoted to Director of Authorities. In that role, she helped to restart the Downtown Development Authority and worked on key development projects throughout the city. She was hired as the Economic Development Director for the City of Farmington Hills in September 2018.

Seimer co-chairs the MEDA Emerging Leaders Committee, contributes monthly blogs, assists in the MEDA mentorship program, attends Board meetings, and has presented at membership meetings.
