A local family recently received the “best Christmas present ever, when a Farmington Hills man missing for more than six months was found alive and well in Tennessee.
Brent Briggs, 44, who is cognitively impaired, drove away from his home on June 6. He was last seen June 11 in LaFollette, Tennessee.
According to family members, Briggs had been staying on property in Englewood, Tennessee, about 100 miles south of LaFollette. The property owners did not know Briggs was impaired; he was identified by an Englewood police officer.
Authorities had issued a nation-wide “Gold Alert,” established for missing people who have disabilities. The family also created a “Brent Briggs is Missing” Facebook page to raise awareness.
On December 20, they changed the name of that page to “Brent Briggs is FOUND – Thank You for Helping.”
