Farmington/Hills Foundation glams up for annual gala

The Farmington & Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth & Families will hold its annual Spring Gala on Saturday, May 5, at Meadowbrook Country Club with “A Night of Hollywood Glamour.”

Emcee will be sports broadcaster Eli Zaret, and the evening will feature cocktails, dinner, an auction, and entertainment from NUCLASSICA.

Funds raised will support programs and provide funds to improve the quality of life for children, youth and families in need within the communities of Farmington and Farmington Hills.

During the event, Farmington Hills resident Paul Blizman will receive the 2018 Riley Award for Altruism, presented each year to someone who has made a significant contribution to the communities of Farmington and Farmington Hills.

Raised in Wyandotte and Grosse Ile, Blizman moved to Farmington Hills in 1974 with his wife and daughter. Since then, he has been an active volunteer with the Farmington Hills Energy Commission, the Farmington Hills Historic District Commission and the Farmington Hills Planning Commission. He was a Foundation board member from 2000 to 2011, served as president from 2006-2009, and was instrumental in setting up the endowment fund with the Community Foundation of South East Michigan.
