Farmington Hills Fire Chief Jon Unruh took home the “Best Dessert” trophy at the Chiefs Cooking for Kids charity event held October 11 at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center in Detroit.

Metro Detroit police and fire chiefs competed for a variety of awards. Unruh’s dessert was an Oreo-based dish featuring layers of chocolate pudding, cool whip, and cream cheese.

“The dessert seemed to be a real hit with everyone,” he said in a press release. “The evening was a lot of fun, while at the same time promoting a great cause.”

Chiefs Cooking for Kids raised funds for The Youth Connection and the AFPD (American Food and Petroleum Dealers) Foundation, two non-profit organizations that provide advocacy and support services for disadvantaged children and families in Detroit.
