Farmington extends leaf pick-up, yard waste season ends soon

Yard waste collection in the cities of Farmington and Farmington Hills will end in the next few weeks, with Farmington extending its annual leaf collection program.

Farmington’s second round of leaf pick-up starts this week. The Department of Public Services has announced that crews will also be out in neighborhoods on Tuesday, November 20, Wednesday, November 21, Monday, November 26, Tuesday, November 27, and Wednesday, November 28.

The leaf collection service won’t remove all leaves, and residents should place those that fall after collection days into paper bags or labeled yard waste containers for pickup on their regular trash collection days.

Here’s a look at the maps (click to see larger versions on the city’s website):

Farmington yard waste collection provided by Waste Management ends the last full week of November, while the Farmington Hills collection continues through the week of December 10, on customers’ regular trash collection days. Any yard waste accumulated after those dates should be stored until spring pickup resumes in April 2019.
