This August, two Farmington families will welcome international exchange students who will attend Farmington High School this fall.
The Rivest family will host Capucine, a student from France, and the West family will share their home with Mika, from Germany. Both families were matched for the academic year through Youth For Understanding USA (YFU).
One of the world’s oldest and largest intercultural exchange programs, YFU each year places hundreds of international exchange students with host families across the U.S. and enrolls them in a local area school.
Exchange students typically experience tremendous personal growth during their year, while impressions made by the students themselves will broaden perspectives of host families and ultimately ripple across entire communities.
