Farmington’s 2018 Memorial Day Parade will roll down Grand River on Monday, May 28.
Sponsored by the Groves Walker American Legion Post 346 and the Xemplar Club of Farmington & Farmington Hills, the parade has been an area tradition since 1970. This great family event honors veterans, fallen heroes, and active service men and women.
Parade units step off at 10 a.m. near the intersection of Grand River Avenue and Orchard Lake Road, then travel one mile west on Grand River. A ceremony will take place at the Farmington War Memorial Monument in Memorial Park, at Grand River and Oakland Streets.
After the ceremony, all are welcome at the community luncheon sponsored by Weingartz at the American Legion Hall, 31775 Grand River.
Non-profit and charitable organizations can march in the parade for free. To learn more or to register to march, visit memorialdayparade.us or call 248-471- 4960, extension 206.
