Thespians young and old have an opportunity this month to audition for the Farmington Hills Youth Theatre’s fall production of Disney’s “Shrek,” on stage November 15-18.
Open auditions will be held Tuesday, August 21, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Thursday, August 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.; and Saturday, August 25 from noon to 6:00 p.m. at the Costick Center, 28600 W. 11 Mile Rd. in Farmington Hills.
Disney’s “Shrek” features an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking donkey and a feisty princess who resists rescue – not to mention a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude, and more than a dozen fairy tale misfits.
Newcomers and experienced actors (grades 1 through 12 and adults) may drop in at any time during audition hours and need not prepare for the process. Participants are asked to bring a recent photo to auditions; all other materials are supplied.
Audition materials and audition information are available on the Youth Theatre’s website.
A free audition workshop scheduled for Tuesday, August 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Costick Center, provides an opportunity to learn the songs and dances before the formal audition process. No pre-registration is required.
