A two-car accident on September 2 caused significant damage to the City of Farmington Hills municipal campus’ iconic corner fountain.
Farmington Hills Assistant Chief Dan Rodriguez said one of the vehicles involved in the accident ran off the roadway, causing the damage. No one was injured, he said.
The fountain has been the seasonal home of the city’s lighted unity candle, on display during December. In 2010, improvements to the corner – including a monument sign, brick pavers, benches, and landscaping – were part of the renovation and expansion of City Hall.
