Sheila Landis Trio opens concert series at the Farmington Civic

Harvest Moon Celebration

The Sheila Landis Trio will open the 2017 “Friday Night Live” concert series at the Farmington Civic Theater in downtown Farmington.

The Sept. 15, 7:30 p.m. concert will open with a 20-minute performance by Axis Music Academy student Alison Buckman, followed by a spirited solo set by Michigan State University graduate David Thomas playing the Fender Rhodes keyboard. Thomas will join vocalist Landis, 7-string guitarist Rick Matle and drummer Karen Tomalis for a tune, followed by an hour-long set from the Landis trio from 9 p.m.-10 p.m.

The series includes two more concerts: Two Lane Bridge with special guest Al Carmichael on Oct. 20 and Olivia Millerschinn with special guest Jason Longuski on Nov. 10.

Produced by Tom Birchler and Civic Theater general manager Scott Freeman, the series is sponsored by St. Joe’s Medical Group. Tickets for Friday Night Live are $12 in advance or at the door, cash only.
