Donation drive benefits Farmington Schools families

A clothing and shoe drive that starts Friday, Sept. 15 in Farmington will benefit the St. Vincent de Paul charity and Farmington Public Schools families in need.

St. Vincent de Paul provides large donation bins that will be located at the Lewis Schulman Administrative Center, 32500 Shiawassee, until Friday, Oct. 6. After the drive, the charity provides the school district with gift cards to its Keego Harbor store, which will be distributed to local families.

Clothing and shoe donations can be made at any time. If you have a large item to donate, call 1-877-788-4623 or visit svdpdet.org to schedule a pickup.

St. Vincent de Paul helps more than 300,000 people each year by providing food, shelter, utility assistance and more to those in need. Its dental clinic, summer camp, thrift stores and donation centers and nutrition center support their long term strategic efforts to eliminate poverty and suffering in the community.
