Save the date: Harvest Moon brings music and more

Celebrate the beginning of autumn at the Walter E. Sundquist Pavilion and Riley Park Sept. 21-23, during the Harvest Moon celebration.

“The tradition of Harvest Moon has become a signature event in Farmington,” said Kate Knight, Farmington Downtown Development Authority’s Executive Director. “Harvest Moon just really adds to the wonderful community offerings found in Farmington.”

The Celebration begins Thursday, 6 p.m.-11 p.m., with live music by Northville Folk, more than 50 craft beers, more than 30 wines, and food catered by John Cowley & Sons.

Friday night’s Harvest Moon Dance from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., features live music by Bugs Beddow and the Good Stuff, more beer and wine, and a Taste of Farmington, featuring local fare available from downtown Farmington restaurants and businesses.

Saturday brings the largest Farmington Farmers Market of the season held on Market Street, right next to its usual location at the Pavilion, and featuring farmers, artisans, and performers. A pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. will be hosted by the Farmington Area Jaycees.

Tickets to the Harvest Moon Celebration can be purchased at the door for $8 or in advance for $6 at John Cowley & Sons, The Vines, Merle Norman Cosmetics and Meadows Fine Wine & Liquor, as well as Saturdays at the Farmers Market.
