UPDATED: Farmington Hills teen in custody after mother’s death

UPDATED: While police aren’t releasing many details, a local news outlet reported Wednesday that a Farmington Hills teen arrested Monday pushed his mother out of a window.

According to a statement issued by Farmington Hills Police, officers responded to 911 call received around 6:40 a.m. from a home on Howard Road, south of I-696 between Halsted and Drake Roads. The caller said a woman was unconscious as the result of an accident.

Police and paramedics were unable to revive the 35-year-old woman, and detectives found evidence that her death was not an accident. Detectives took the woman’s 16-year-old son into custody; he is being held at Oakland County Children’s Village in Pontiac.

According to the release, “The investigation is being treated as a homicide and is an active ongoing investigation.”
